Face Book and Twitter are the most favorite web sites of Pakistanis, especially teens and youngsters.In fact Pakistan was in a dilemma how to check this rampant usage of Facebook and twitter by them. Recently Pakistan got a God sent opportunity.Without wasting much time Pakistan proceeded to ban Twitter.The story that led to the ban on twitter is this: Recently Facebook has announced a contest in the social net working site calling upon its members to up load the pictures of prophet Mohammed.Twitter offered to promote this contest. Pakistan considered this contest as blasphemous and a discredit to Prophet Mohammed.Hence,Pakistan requested Facebook not to hold the contest which they considered blasphemous.Facebook responded positively and came up with a reply that they would consider the request of Pakistan.However,when Pakistan requested the micro blogging site twitter not to promote or advertise the contest announced by the Facebook, it refused to budge.Infuriated by the Twitter's refusal, Pakistan immediately announced the ban on twitter. However, the users of this micro blogging site did not well receive the idea of imposing a ban on twitter.Besides, many Arab countries and other Muslim countries did not take any such radical step and they are simply keeping mum.But as far as Pakistan is concerned, it seems that she has actually used this God sent opportunity to impose a ban on twitter and thereby bail out her own teens and youngsters. However, till date Facebook has not acceded to withdraw the contest nor the Twitter had stopped her promotional activities.Therefore, it is very clear that Pakistan had just utilized this opportunity to save the entire nation from using twitter.Hence the ban on twitter.
